DictionaryThe dictionary is currently being developed and should eventually include some sixty headwords. The following principles guided the elaboration of the dictionary: The terms defined are mostly notions and concepts, not institutions or field actors. No definitions are thus provided for institutions, but the latter are mentioned, wherever appropriate, in the definitions of concepts. For example, the Belgian National Council for Cooperation (Conseil National de la Coopération, or CNC) and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) are mentioned under the "cooperation/cooperative" headword. SomSome of the concepts defined go beyond the framework of the social economy, the non-profit sector and the non-market sector, but are closely linked hereto. This is for example the case of the notions of sustainable public markets, local development, "plural economy", collective impacts,… Much broader notions, though, such as alter-globalization, development cooperation,… are not included. In some cases, several headwords refer to the same definition file: for example, the "social utility" headword refers to the same definition file as the "collective benefits" headword. The title of this file thus includes both terms.
